The Skyland neighborhood is just north of City Park Golf Course and City Park. It is just south of Clayton, East of Whittier and West of Park Hill neighborhoods. It is a grid that has the borders of MLK Blvd to the North, 26th Avenue to the south, York to the west and Colorado Blvd to the East.
The genesis of the name Skyland is not known for certain. Some residents claim it comes from beautiful views of the skyline and mountains, since some of Skyland is on a hill facing west. Skyland is primarily a quiet, family-oriented, residential neighborhood with tree-lined streets and a suburban-urban mix.
The architectural styles of the Clayton neighborhood is comprised of ranch, Denver Square, Craftsman Bungalows and Tudors. Lately there have been an influx of investors scraping(knocking down homes) to build brand new homes. Some of these brand new homes can have amazing city and mountain views, especially east of Steele Street.
The common convenience that Skyland shares with other 80205 neighborhoods, is that you have easy access to Downtown, the mountains and Denver International Airport.
