The Five Points District is named after the 5 way intersecting streets of Welton, Washington, 26th and 27th Avenue. The border consists of the Platte River to the West, Park Avenue to the South, Downing Street to the East and 40th Avenue to the South.
Five Points consists of RiNo, Ballbark, Curtis Park, San Rafael and Clements neighborhoods. From the 1920s to 1960s, Five Points was known as the “Harlem of the West.” Numerous jazz greats were known to make visits to perform, such as Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Count Bassie and other greats. Some consider Welton Street the heart of Five Points.
On Welton Street you have numerous businesses there, from restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and barbershops. From Five Points, you are located adjacent to downtown. It is a great place to live not only for easy access to and from downtown, you also have an historic neighborhood with beautiful Victorians, Queen Anne style and bungalows throughout. Five Points is also home to the first park in Denver with Curtis Park.
