Lenore B. Quick Park
26th Ave and, Ogden St, Denver, CO 80205
Lenore B. Quick Park is a small neighborhood park and classic pocket park. The park honors Lenore B. Quick, an early childhood educator and advocate who championed issues affecting young children in Denver. There is a playground, basketball court and park benches located in this quaint park. A notable design element from the 2017 renovation includes large blocks that spell out the word “play,” in a tribute to Quick’s focus on childhood learning and development. Grab a bagel sandwich at Rosenberg’s and relax in this cute park.
Mestizo-Curtis Park
30th-32nd Ave, Champa St. to Arapahoe St
Mestizo-Curtis Park is the oldest park in Denver, dating back to 1868. It was named after early settler Samuel Curtis. The park spans about nine acres of green space with tree-lined pathways and open lawns. The surrounding neighborhood is one of Denver’s oldest residential areas, known for Victorian and historic homes and a mix of architectural styles. The park features playgrounds, paths, open lawns, a tennis and a basketball court. There are plenty of picnic tables throughout the park. The park included a public swimming pool and pavilion that were community staples for decades. That pool has been closed for renovation and replacement, with plans underway (as of late 2025) to build a modern aquatic facility expected to open around 2027.

Sonny Lawson Park is a small urban neighborhood park located in the Five Points / Curtis Park area of Denver at Welton Street and Park Avenue West. It serves as a local green space and recreational hub for residents and visitors alike. The park was named in 1972 after Sonny Lawson, a prominent local figure: a longtime business owner and community leader known for his influence in east Denver. It has cultural significance in the Five Points neighborhood — even appearing in On the Road by Jack Kerouac due to its historic ballfield. The park has a basketball court, a grass baseball field, a dog park and a playground.
